Amazon Web Services is putting its cloud and AI infrastructure behind a basketball-themed maths programme, teaming with NBA Africa and non-profit Learn Fresh.

The invitation, issued alongside a bidding framework built with PwC and CAF's technical, financial and legal advisers, is pitched as a transparent, ethical process aligned with global best practice.

Debswana Diamond Company has been confirmed as the title sponsor of the World Athletics Relays Gaborone 2026, committing P16 million ($1.17 million) to the event scheduled for May 2–3 at the Botswana National Stadium.
