Afreximbank Backs Uganda Stadium Development with $36.4M Financing Facility

African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has extended US$36.4 million contract financing facility to Egypt’s Samco-National Construction Company Construction Company for Akii Bua Olympic Stadium project in Uganda.

Akii Bua Stadium is expected to host some of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) games which Government of Uganda is co-hosting with its East African neighbours Government of Kenya and Government of Tanzania in a joint bid.
