KCB Bank Kenya has committed KShs. 227 million to the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya, extending its role as a key financial backer of the event since its return to the global calendar in 2021.

The allocation includes KShs. 100 million in direct support for the rally, alongside KShs. 28.5 million dedicated to sponsoring five regional drivers, with the remaining funds directed toward marketing and on-ground activations.

The latest commitment brings KCB’s cumulative investment in the Safari Rally to approximately KShs. 980 million over six years, showing the growing role of corporate capital in sustaining major sporting events across Africa.

“Our sponsorship demonstrates our commitment to driving sustainable impact, supporting local talent, and stimulating economic activity across tourism, trade, and enterprise,” said KCB Group CEO Paul Russo.

The Safari Rally, based in Naivasha, continues to anchor Kenya’s position on the global motorsport calendar, with the 2026 edition set to feature over 50 teams and leading manufacturers including Toyota, Hyundai, Škoda, and M-Sport Ford.

Beyond competition, the sponsorship reflects a broader strategy to integrate sport with economic and social outcomes. KCB plans to embed sustainability initiatives into the event, including a tree-planting programme and youth-focused environmental engagement across schools.

“KCB’s sustained investment has helped grow local talent, attract global attention, and unlock opportunities for communities along the rally route,” said Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi.

The event, which spans four days and 20 special stages, remains one of the most demanding fixtures on the WRC calendar, combining global visibility with local economic impact.
