Telkom has renewed its sponsorship of the Telkom Netball League (TNL) and the Telkom Netball Championships for a further two years, reinforcing its position as a long-term commercial partner in South African netball.

The telecoms group has backed the competition since 2019, stepping in after South African Breweries ended its association - through its Brutal Fruit brand - following the 2018 season.

Telkom Chief Marketing Officer Gugu Mthembu said the extension reflects a continued focus on improving both funding and visibility within women's sport, positioning the league as a platform to grow fan engagement and develop elite talent pathways.

The renewed agreement will also introduce increased prize money and a revised compensation structure for players and coaches.

Netball South Africa president Mami Diale said remuneration will now be more closely aligned with performance, experience and level of competition, replacing a previously uniform pay model across divisions.

The changes shows a shift toward a tiered financial framework, as the league continues to evolve its commercial and professional structure.
