The National Basketball Association (NBA) Africa and Africell Group have signed an agreement that will see the existing Angola-focused brand’s collaboration extend to other parts of Africa including the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

The collaboration between Africell and NBA Africa in Angola began in 2022 and has already seen thousands of young Angolans given opportunities to learn and play the game of basketball.

Africell CEO, president and founder Ziad Dalloul and NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum signed the expanded agreement at the NBA’s global headquarters in New York City back in September 2025.
