Kenyan President, William Ruto has directed Kenya's Ministry of Sports to fully fund the construction of a new 10,000-seat stadium in Kilifi, showing an accelerated push to upgrade national sports infrastructure.

According to multiple reports, the stadium will cost about KSh800 million (aapx. USD 6.2 million) project and will include: a standard football pitch and athletics track, gyms and saunas, conference and media facilities.
