The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has secured a major commercial partnership with global sportswear brand PUMA, which becomes the league's Official Outfitter under a new multi-year agreement.
PUMA will supply all official on-court and off-court apparel across the league. This includes team uniforms, warm-up and training gear, referee kits, fan merchandise, and apparel tied to BAL's social impact and player development programs.
The deal shows the continued commercial momentum for the BAL, as it deepens its partnership ecosystem while enhancing the league's professional infrastructure and global positioning.
Beyond performance apparel, the collaboration also targets consumer engagement. BAL-branded fan wear - designed to reflect the energy and cultural identity of African basketball - will be distributed across multiple channels, including BAL and PUMA e-commerce platforms, in-arena retail, and physical NBA and PUMA stores in South Africa.
The partnership strengthens PUMA's presence in basketball and reinforces its long-term investment in African sport, where the brand has already built strong equity across football and athletics.
BAL’s alignment with the global performance brand supports its ambition to elevate standards across the league - from player experience to commercial growth and fan engagement.
PUMA joins an expanding BAL partner portfolio that includes the Rwanda Development Board, Afreximbank, Air Senegal, Amazon Web Services, Castle Lite, and RwandAir - highlighting increasing institutional and corporate interest in Africa's emerging sports leagues.
