Sports Tech Startup FanBants Shuts Down

FanBants (Techstars 23), the African startup that fused fantasy sports with pop culture, has announced its closure after four years in operation. Founder Fola Folowosele announced earlier this week ending a venture that began with the support from Techstars. Beşiktaş J.K Professional Footballer Wilfred Ndidi who was also an investor and a prominent figure in its marketing campaigns.

Since its launch in 2021, FanBants carved out a niche by offering fantasy leagues for major sports tournaments and the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
