FIBA Basketball and ESPN Africa to bring Basketball games across Sub-Saharan Africa

FIBA has signed exclusive rights with ESPN to broadcast basketball games across Sub-Saharan Africa. This will grant the broadcaster english-language rights across Sub-Saharan Africa until 2029 for distribution on ESPN pay television services.
This expansion of the ESPN Africa portfolio also reflects the sport's increasing popularity of basketball across the continent.
Women's basketball in particular is gaining significant momentum, with national teams across Africa investing heavily in preparation and talent development
The partnership tips off with the highly anticipated Road to FIBA Basketball World Cup – QATAR 2027 African Qualifiers on November 27. Featuring African powerhouses such as Senegal, Angola Basketball Official, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria Basketball Federation.
