CAF has increased AFCON Prize Money by 43%. Winner gets $10M

Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) announced that TotalEnergies AFCON will be played every four years from 2028, with a new African Nations League taking place every year and increased Prize Money.
New Prize Money:
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the prize for this year's winner of the AFCON 2025, hosted by Morocco (from Dec. 21 to Jan. 18), has been raised to $10 million.
- AFCON Cameroon 2021 Winner: USD 5 Million
- AFCON Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Winner: USD 7 Million
- AFCON Morocco 2025 Winner: USD 10 Million (+43%) increase
- AFCON Morocco 2025 will receive USD 4 million
- Two Semi-finalists each receive USD 2.5 million
New CAF Competition Time Line:
AFCON 2027 Cup of Nations to be hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania will go ahead as planned. The following edition; originally scheduled for 2029, will be moved forward to take place in 2028. Next AFCON after that will be in 2032.
First African Nations League to take place in 2029 54 members, divided into four geographical zones, with games in September and October before the finals are held in November.
